Shala - Milind Bokil

Marathi novel 'Shala' by Milind Bokil is a wonderful journey in the world of adolescence. It is a story of a group of friends who gather on a building under construction before going to the school - throwing tantrums at the other school goers (students and teachers alike) and falling in love (many would like to call it crush but I don't mind saying love) among other many other things one does during the years 12 - 15 of life. I was sure reminded of my school days and badly so. It was difficult not to imagine the pictures when reading the novel.

Shala is simply ultimate creation....It is reflection of our school days.I never come across such a wonderful book ever.
For everyword that I was reading,I used to imagine that whole wonderful picture of my school.
The book is so nicely written that I cant control my emotion at last.I cried a lot after reading this wonderful creation. One of the speciality of this book is that it automatically start crating whole picture in our mind.
Today after long time ,when I look back,I come to know that I have lose lot of beautiful moments due to these daily routine work. But at the same time thanks to Shala to cherish......
After finishing this book I dont know what a magic this book is having,I went to all great memory of my shala.I am stiil finding where is my shirodkar..I started to compare each of my school teacher to the different character defined in boook.Today I decided that I will be going back to home to see my Shala after so long time......
Thanks a lot Milind Bokil for such a nice........book.

Shala - Not just a book but a time machine which will take you back to your school.

Few days back after a very stressful day in office I came back home at around 9pm. Obviously I was hungry and tired because of the workload at office.I was waiting for the dinner as my mom was preparing some salad (which I don't have the option but to eat). I was just looking around for the newspaper when I saw the book "Shala" which my dad had got from the library. By looking at the title of the book I thought that might be the story of some old musician or somebody because my dad is a big fan of old bollywood songs and the music directors.I could never read those books (Except their titles). But my dinner was taking bit time so I started reading the book "Shala". As soon as I started reading the book I was so deeply involved in the book that I was simultaneously having a dinner and reading the book.It took all the day's stress out of me in and In few minutes I was back in my school.
The book is written so nicely and the characters are also chosen in such a way that everyone who reads the book finds some resemblance with some character. This is a priceless gift by a milind bokil to all the people like us.
I would like to thank Mr. Milind Bokil for taking us back to those golden days.
